caseworker, often referred to as a Social Worker, is a person who is employed by a government agency or a private organization to take on an individual's case and provide them advocacy and information or other services.  In the United States, most government agencies that provide social services to children in poor or troubled families have a staff of caseworkers, each of whom is assigned a proportion of the cases under review at any given time.
This website is designed to be helpful, not harmful to caseworkers.  If a caseworker is not doing his/her job ethically and responsibly, any information provided by the caseworker to the parties involved in a case can become public record at the discretion of the individuals involved in that case.  If you do interact with a caseworker, everything that is said during that case is documented in the words and interpretation of that caseworker.

This website provides a means to rate the quality of that interpretation.  Yes, it is always possible that a person could defame an innocent caseworker; however there are countless websites and forums to accomplish this goal.  RateMyCaseworker's objective is to make a good faith effort to provide an informative and constructive learning tool for all who are involved with children.

As of 2004, there were approximately 876,000 child welfare caseworkers in the United States. Seventy-two percent are women, and their mean salary is $30,590. Caseworker turnover is high; every year, an estimated 20 percent of public caseworkers and 40 percent of private caseworkers leave their positions.  Maybe this website will help find a solution to this problem.
